For the Nike Robot I was asked to create leg muscles that worked with the design and aesthetic of the existing parts and also to merge real sneakers in with parts that morph into the robot. For the muscles I used foam to sculpt the shapes and plaster to create a small detailed ridge with a pattern etched into it.
To merge the sneakers I used epoxy clay to to blend and connect forms and to create morphing shoe tread. After sculpting I hand painted the shoe tread to match the real Nike sneaker’s shoe tread.
